I never thought that I will suffer but here we are, and I am right in the middle of it!
Menopause!!
Menopause is defined as when a woman stops having periods and is no longer able to get pregnant naturally. Periods usually start to become less frequent over a few months or years before they stop altogether. Sometimes they can stop suddenly.
Your body’s hormones are like a seesaw. When they are perfectly balanced, your body works as it should. But when they are unbalanced, you may begin experiencing problems.
If you are having high Estrogen in your body, you might experience the following symptoms:
- Bloating
- Swelling and tenderness in your breasts
- Fibrocystic lumps in your breast
- Irregular periods
- Increased symptoms of PMS
- Mood swings
- Headaches
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Weight gain
- Hair loss
- Cold hands and feet
- Trouble sleeping
- Sleepiness or fatigue
- Memory problems
- Leg cramps
- Decreased sex drive
If your Estrogen levels are low, your symptoms might include:
- An increase in urinary tract infection due to a thinning of the urethra
- Irregular or absent periods
- Mood swings
- Hot flushes
- Breast tenderness
- Headaches or accentuation of pre-existing migraines
- Depression
- Trouble concentrating
- Fatigue
- Changes in bone density
- Incontinence
- Painful sex due to lack of vaginal lubrication
Although this is a natural and important change for a woman it can bring a range of challenges both emotionally but mostly physically. The common perception is that we have to either take HRT or we suffer. On the NHS website it states that HRT is extremely effective at relieving menopausal symptoms but there are a range of side effects such as headaches, vaginal bleeding plus an increased risk of blood clots and breast cancer in some women. A more natural approach can be the use of Homeopathic Remedies.
Homeopathy can help to balance Estrogen naturally. Without side effects.
